Scrap Aluminum Crushing and Sorting Process (Including Shredder)
The typical process flow of a modern scrap aluminum recycling plant is as follows, with the shredder at the heart of the pre-processing stage:
1. Pre-processing (Shredder Application):
• Unpacking and Magnetic Separation: After removing the packing tape, the scrap aluminum material passes through a conveyor belt into a magnetic separator (permanent magnet drum or electromagnetic iron remover) to separate iron impurities (such as nails and screws).
• Shredding: The pre-processed scrap aluminum enters the shredder, where it is broken into uniform small pieces (5-30mm). A cooling system (water spray or air cooling) controls the temperature to prevent aluminum chips from splashing and oxidation.
• Secondary Sorting: The shredded mixed material passes through an eddy current separator (which uses aluminum's electrical conductivity to separate non-metallic materials such as plastics and rubber) and a density separator (which separates lightweight impurities such as foam and paper scraps).
2. Sorting:
